BIG WHEEL FUSION TRIO (LIVE) - Band on stage around 9pm, performing 2 live sets

The Big Wheel Fusion Trio is an innovative band performing a compelling mix of original compositions and well-loved covers, showcasing their versatility and creative prowess. Drawing inspiration from musical legends such as George Duke, Bill Evans, Oscar Peterson, Weather Report, Mahavishnu Orchestra, and Return to Forever, the trio’s sound is both unique and profoundly influenced by these greats.

Its bandleader Ben Smith aka Ben Genie, is a dynamic and self-taught pianist, keyboardist, and Hammond organist emerging into the forefront of the London music scene. While his musical roots are firmly planted in gospel music, Ben’s passion for jazz and other genres allows him to continually expand his musical horizons and enrich his playing style.

Ben’s dedication to his craft and his ability to blend diverse musical styles, have established him as a notable figure in the music scene. His work as a producer and arranger further highlights his multifaceted talent and commitment to musical excellence.”

Gordon Wedderburn is one half of the couple behind GW Jazz, a grassroots organization supporting Jazz, particularly emerging talent in London. Through his live event residencies, radio show, selector/dj activities and clothing brand, they’ve collaborated with and supported some of the biggest names on the London Jazz scene including, Sons of Kemet, Camilla George, Zara McFarlane, Ben Hayes, Nubiya Garcia, Moses Boyd, Lokkhi Terra, Dele Sosimi, Robert Mitchell, Collocutor, Tomorrow’s warriors and Ezra Collective.
