ANNA CHAI [LIVE]! Thu Sep 03 - (8pm-1130pm) Grass Roots is a monthly live music event which is fully dedicated to supporting young and emerging London-based jazz artists. For the month of September, we're hugely honoured to host multigenre saxophonist and flautist ANNA CHAI [Live] at Peckham's very own CLF Art Lounge Pop Up.
ANNA CHAI [Live] - Band on stage around 9pm, performing 2 live sets
Anna puts together an excellent line-up to bring her original musical concepts to life, taking inspiration from some of her biggest influences which include Charles Lloyd, Wayne Shorter, Jorge Pardo and Carles Benavent.
Her project addresses a yearning for unmasked, fully present music that amalgamates elements of the sounds she most connects with. The cross rhythms and expressive interpretations of melodies in flamenco, rhythmic cycles heard on the tabla in Indian classical music, American hard bop and modal jazz, all feed into a…
