Amelia Wilding is a Bassist, Composer, Bandleader, Educator and Artist.
Currently studying Jazz at Trinity Laban Conservatoire, she’s the recipient of the Financial Entrance award and the Wolfson Instrument Fund for 2024. She works regularly with the National Youth Jazz Orchestra (NYJO), and the hugely influential Tomorrow’s Warriors organisation.
She’s been mentored by powerhouse musicians on the London Jazz scene including Yolanda Charles, Binker Golding, Mutale Chashi, Romarna Campbell, Bruno Heinen and Orlando LeFlemming.
She can be found around various London venues with her iconic Blue “Jaco-esque” Fender Jazz Bass at Ronnie Scott’s, Pizza Express Soho and Oliver’s Jazz Bar. She has previously written music to be performed at Festivals such as Love Supreme, London EFG and We Out Here.
She successfully runs various creative ensembles, each exploring a different genre and approach to writing music. Inspiration for her personal project comes from rhythmic interfusion noted from Nai Palms work with Haitus Kayote and Esperanza Spalding & Joni Mitchells approach to songwriting and Little Simz sound of production engineering.
Amelia looks towards a very bright musical future and is one to watch emerging on the vibrant, exciting London Jazz scene!.
